TFC aims to combat misinformation in the digital age, improve public information literacy, and safeguard the trust principles essential for democratic operations.

Taiwan FactCheck Center is a non-profit organization committed to maintaining neutrality and independence in its operations, particularly in verifying public affairs information. Since its inception in 2018, TFC has declined donations from political parties and figures and does not accept advertising revenue. Its funding primarily comes from partnerships with tech platforms, project grants, and content licensing.
Fact-checking requires substantial resources, including real-time information monitoring, data collection, research, and expert interviews. Each step is labor-intensive and resource-consuming, performed under significant time pressure to counter fast-spreading rumors.
We believe that “seeing the truth is the foundation for building a better Taiwan.” Our mission is to enhance Taiwan’s information ecosystem and the quality of journalism by correcting misinformation and providing accurate, contextual information. This foundation supports public dialogue and debate on critical issues, helping citizens make informed decisions.
We invite you to support the Taiwan FactCheck Center in our mission to defend the truth. Your donations will help us continue our vital work and enable us to go further in our pursuit of truth.
